We Made Handmade Zebra Shelves!!

I have been in the process of redecorating my daughters bedroom.  She wanted a pink and zebra room.  Her room is really small and I have been wanting to get rid of her bookshelf because it took up to much room.  We decided to make our own shelves for the wall.

We bought different sizes of wood and cut them to the length of the wall we were going to hang them on.  We bought all the wood at Lowes. If you don't have access to power tools you can have Lowe's cut the wood to whatever length you want for free! The zebra strip across the wall I got off of Amazon HERE. for $10.97 which turned out cute!

I painted the wood white and then painted over with black to make the zebra design, the paint was free because I had already had it at home from valspar sample giveaway a while back. The wood only cost around $10.00.  Way cheaper than buying already from the store and you can customize them to any color or design you want!! Let your imagination run wild! Below is a picture of the finished product full our my daughters books ! The one side I left blank with just one shelf is because we are going to add a bean bag chair for my daughter to sit and read. Her own little personal space.

We had so much fun working on this project and now my boys are wanting to make there own shelves also! There room is designed in hotwheels, so I will have to post when we get to working on there room for the shelves and show you how they turn out!
